About Us |

With a grant from Soroptimist International in January 2010, we purchased and borrowed 18 sewing machines and other equipment. A local businessman donated a classroom for our use. Guild members and a local Peace Corps volunteer offered their time and expertise to teach basic sewing and quilting techniques.
The classes have been extremely popular. During the first year, 104 women, who ranged in age from 25 to 85 participated.
The Volcan Quilters’ Guild raises money by raffling quilts and selling other guild-made items. These funds are used to purchase additional sewing machines and class materials.
We need your help! Quilting fabric and supplies are not readily available in Panama. The Guild imports cotton fabric, pins, rulers, cutting mats, and rotary cutters which are then sold at cost to class participants. The Guild gratefully accepts cash and cotton fabric donations for our classes. Fabric and supplies can be sent to: Marianne Brown Delvi, Inc7010 NW 50th St Miami, FL 33166-5634
